At Belhaven Nursery School, we recognise that every child is unique, and some children may need additional support to help them learn, develop and fully participate in nursery life.
We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment where every child feels valued, respected and supported. We work closely with children and their families to understand individual needs and, where appropriate, put the right support in place to help each child achieve their full potential.
Additional support may include adapting learning experiences, providing different ways for children to communicate and participate, making changes to the nursery environment, or working with other professionals and services when this would benefit the child.
We understand that children’s needs can change over time. Our approach is therefore flexible and responsive, with regular communication between nursery staff and families to ensure that the support provided continues to meet each child’s needs.
We believe that parents and carers know their children best, and their views and experiences are an important part of planning the right support. We aim to build positive, open and respectful relationships with families and encourage parents and carers to talk to us about any concerns, questions or support their child may require.
We also want to ensure that all parents and carers can access information and communicate with the nursery in a way that works for them. Where needed, we can consider appropriate adjustments to meetings, communication methods, information formats or the nursery environment to support accessibility.
Our aim is simple: to ensure that every child has the opportunity to feel included, develop their confidence and enjoy learning at Belhaven Nursery School.
