As your child gets ready for the next exciting step in their learning journey, it is time to think about Primary 1 enrolment.
For children starting school in August 2027, Primary 1 enrolment will take place from 2nd–6th November 2026.
Children who will turn 5 between 1st March 2027 and 28th February 2028 are eligible to start Primary 1 in August 2027.
Parents and carers should complete the online Primary 1 enrolment form during the enrolment period. We have provided a link below where you will find further information and details of how to register your child.
If you would like your child to attend a school other than their catchment school, you can submit a placing request. If you are unsure of your child's catchment school, please speak to a member of staff in the office. Primary 1 Enrolment and Placing Requests
Some children may be eligible to defer their entry to Primary 1 and have an additional funded year of Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) before starting school.
Children who will turn 5 after the first day of the August 2027 school term and on or before the last day of February 2028 are automatically entitled to defer their entry. This means they are still four years old when they would otherwise start school and have an automatic right to an additional funded year of nursery/ELC.
If you are considering deferring your child's entry to Primary 1, we encourage you to discuss this with the nursery team. We are happy to support you in considering your child's individual needs, development and readiness for school and to provide information about the options available to you.
